SolStar VME Sub System
General Info
The SolStar PCIe/PCI-VME sub-system from Solflower Computer allows existing VME 6U boards to connect to any PCI/PCIe-based Sun computers via StarFabric bridge technology. The SolStar PCIe/PCI-VME subsystem consists of a PCIe/PCI or optional PMC host card and a 7U 19" rackmount chassis, housing 21 VME slots. The VME chassis connects to the Sun host via two shielded CAT6 cables with RJ45 connectors. The Sun host and VME expansion unit can be placed up to 40 feet apart. The SolStar PCIe/ PCI-VME is compatible with VME-64 and supports UltraSPARC Solaris, Solaris x86 from Sun Microsystems.
